Presently, the programme is being implemented in Islamabad by the collaborative efforts of the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) under ‘Mazdoor Ka Ehsaas’ programme. In the initial phase of this scheme, around 200 vendors in Islamabad have been granted vending licenses issued by the municipality and new eco-friendly carts.

A beneficiary of this scheme from Sector G-11 lauded this latest scheme launched by the government and said that it was for the first time that the administration has provided proper legal space, license certification and new eco-friendly carts to assuage the concerns of street vendors. He said that vendors like himself were facing issues owing to their illegal setups in the main market that resulted in losses for them in CDA’s anti-encroachment operations.
