Faisalabad: Divisional Commissioner Ishrat Ali on Thursday informed that PKR 2.60 billion had been distributed under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program in the four districts of the Faisalabad division, a news source reported.

As per the publication, he said that 46 centres had been set up across the four divisions, with a total of 164 counters to disburse the PKR 12,000 relief cash allowance among the region’s needy people; but, only after verifying their biometric thumbprints.

The divisional commissioner said that the whole relief campaign was being run transparently under the supervision of the Pak Army, Rangers, Police, and education officers, among others. Additionally, deserving individuals were made to sit in classrooms to await their turns. Ali further informed that comprehensive monitoring would be implemented until the end of the Ehsaas Programme and that the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Insaaf Imdad program would be launched soon.

Previously, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had launched the ‘Ehsaas Rashan’ portal on April 21 to help connect private donors and beneficiaries in the wake of the lockdown that has resulted in millions of people across the country to lose their jobs and livelihoods.
