Islamabad: A delegation of Egyptian investors met with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and expressed their interest in investing in Pakistan’s real estate sector, news sources reported on December 19.

Senator Dar expressed his enthusiasm in welcoming the business community of Egypt to invest in Pakistan, especially in the real estate sector, and assured that the investors will be offered all the necessary help in this regard. During a meeting with Mr Tarek Hamdy, CEO of Eighteen Elite Real Estate and a subsidiary project of renowned Egyptian businessman Mr Naguib Sawiris, the minister expressed his ambition to enhance the business relationship between the two countries.

Mr Hamdy provided Minister Dar with an overview of his company, including its history of working with Pakistan in the telecommunications and real estate industries. The minister expressed gratitude for Mr Sawiris’ involvement and noted that the current government is offering maximum support and a favourable environment to attract international investors to take advantage of the investment possibilities in Pakistan.

It is important to note that many international firms including Saudi firms have shown their desire to invest in Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Central Business District (CBD) managed by Lahore Central Business District Development Authority (LCBDAA). The investment will be made on a long-term basis for the development of highrise and environmentally friendly infrastructure.
