Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs Noor ul Haq Qadri on Monday informed the National Assembly (NA) that the government was making efforts for acquiring land to construct a Pakistan House facility in Makkah and Madina, a news source reported.

The minister revealed that they wanted to acquire land in Makkah and Madina to construct the said buildings in these cities to facilitate the Pakistani pilgrims. He added that the government was making efforts to acquire the land ‘as a gift for the pilgrims’.
Qadri said that there was a foremost need for establishing this facility in Makkah and set up the same in Madina later on. He added that these facilities would help provide coordinated services to the Pakistani pilgrims in the cities so they could complete their religious obligations without hassle.

Briefing the NA session, Qadri opined that the ‘symbolic presence of Pakistan House in Makkah is imperative’ and it has been missing in the city for the past eight to nine years.
