Karachi: The newly-elected government will formulate a direction for their economic plans by the end of next month, said Finance Minister Asad Umar, as per a news report. Talking to media, Umar said that a detailed assessment of the economy has been undertaken and a more comprehensive plan of action is being devised.
He added that the government is formulating a strategy to bring back money held in offshore accounts earned from corrupt means, as a measure of discouraging those who commit corruption. Umar said that before finalising anything, the matter will be discussed in the Parliament for all stakeholders to be able to debate on the macroeconomic challenges.
