Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza on Saturday announced that the authority will develop special economic zones in all tehsils of Rawalpindi district, according to news sources.
He expressed his views on the matter during a workshop organized at the authority for officers of several departments, community members and other stakeholders of twin cities. He said that the authority is making efforts to ease the congestion of Rawalpindi city by working on a mega Rawalpindi Development Plan.

Murtaza said that the creation of these economic zones is part of that mega Rawalpindi Development Plan, under which development work will be executed in all tehsils as per the modern urban planning strategy. He also said that the regional plan will also help control the unplanned city expansion and unnecessary urbanization.
