Lahore: Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi stated on Wednesday that the economic zones being established in the province would fuel industrial and economic growth and generate at least 2 million jobs, a news source reported. He was addressing an event to inaugurate a special desk for facilitating investors and industrialists at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

The chairman added that the move would also attract significant investments – both local and international. He also revealed that the PIEDMC has plans to establish industrial estates in Sialkot – on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway. An industrial estate will also be established in Chichawatni and Muzaffargarh in order to bring prosperity to the less-developed regions.

Moreover, Hashmi stated that the new counter will serve as a one-window operation for the company. He further praised the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar in facilitating the establishment of the economic zones in the province.
