Lahore: A state-of-the-art economic corridor is being set up near the Lahore-Sialkot (M-11) Motorway, according to Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal.
He was talking to a delegation of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI). Waqas Akram Awan, senior vice president of the chamber, along with other group members, was present at the occasion.

The delegation apprised the minister about the problems being faced by industrialists in Sialkot. The two sides also discussed issues pertaining to the trade activities conducted in dry port and export processing zone.
The minister said that the government is committed to providing a conducive atmosphere to investors. He added that employment opportunities will be created through the promotion of the city’s industry.

Iqbal said that the government will invite suggestions from the stakeholders with regard to Sialkot’s industrial zones.
Moreover, the minister constituted a committee to facilitate the business community. This body has been tasked to give suggestions geared towards revamping the taxation system. The DG Industry has been appointed as its convener.
