Islamabad: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Wednesday (July 06) approved the revised construction project of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) project, the news sources reported. The PKR 308.194 billion and 306 kilometre-long, six-lane wide, divided fenced project will be completed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BoT) basis.

Reportedly, the meeting chaired by the Minister of Finance Miftah Ismail also approved seven projects totalling PKR 410 billion including the M6 motorway project. As per the details, the government will bear a total of PKR 10.3 billion of the total expenditure of the revised M-6 project.
Of the total budget amount, PKR 9.5 billion is part of the capital viability gap fund (VGF), PKR 300 million as the NHA establishment charges while PKR 500 million as contingencies. In addition to this the meeting also approved the following development projects:

- PKR 15 billion have been allocated for the restoration and revamping of Orangi Nullah in Orangi Town, and PKR 14.85 billion has been allocated for the restoration and revamping of Gujjar Nullah in the Central district.
- PKR 17.379 billion have been allocated for the construction of the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (LSM) link Highway (04-Lane) connecting LSM to Narang Mandi and Kartarpur Narowal, including the Narowal Eastern bypass. The 73-kilometre-long and 4-lane dual carriageway project will be completed in three years that will connect Kartarpur with Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and Nankana.
- PKR 25.5 billion have been approved for the Punjab Urban Lane Systems Enhancement project (PULSE) project. Under the project, the Board of Revenue (BOR) through the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) will develop cadastral mapping including; digital land records of urban, peri-urban, and rural areas of the entire Punjab.
- PKR 16.489 billion have been allocated for the construction of the missing link of the Northern section of Ring Road starting from Warsak road to Nasir Bagh road. The 8.7-kilometre-long, 6-lane project will be completed in three years, entirely funded and executed by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government (KP).
- PKR13.247 billion have been allocated for the construction of the Mangi Dam on the Khost River. The dam is a 61-meter-high concrete gravity dam with a gross reservoir capacity of 36.4 MCM and an annual release of 13.4 million cubic meters (MCM). The federal government will cover half of the original Project Concept-1 (PC-1) cost plus the extra cost due to the upgrading of the power supply grid station and transmission line.
