Islamabad: At a meeting held on Thursday, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved development projects worth PKR 579 billion across a variety of sectors, according to a news source.

These project cover sectors such as water management, measures to improve agricultural yield, and the uplifting of Karachi, among many others. The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr Hafeez Sheikh chaired the meeting, and discussed the allocation of funds for a large number of projects.
Some of the details of these funds are listed below:
- PKR 125.184 billion for the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme Phase-I
- PKR 78.384 billion for the construction of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Red Line project in Karachi
- PKR 16.708 billion for the Karachi Water & Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP)
- PKR 31.935 billion for the Sehat Sahulat Programme
- PKR 95 billion for eight major agricultural projects
- PKR 154.542 billion for the National Programme for Improvement of Watercourse in Pakistan Phase-II
- PKR 46.804 billion for the 500 kV HVDC Transmission System between Tajikistan and Pakistan for the Central Asia-South Asia Transmission Interconnection (CASA-1000) project
- PKR 13.103 billion for the Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP)
