Islamabad: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) gives the nod to multiple development projects, including the Lahore Ring Road-Southern Loop and Khawazakhela-Besham Expressway, according to news published in the leading newspaper on July 19.

A meeting was held of ECNEC, which was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar. The following are the details of the projects:
• Construction of Lahore Ring Road-Southern Loop (SL-3) was approved at the cost of PKR 17,785.850 million. The project will be funded entirely by the Government of Punjab’s Annual Development Program (ADP).
• Prime Minister’s National Program for Solarization Agriculture Tube Wells was also approved. This initiative aims to solarize agriculture tube wells in multiple provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, KP, and Balochistan.
• Construction of the 48-kilometre-long Khawazakhela-Besham Expressway was given approval at the estimated cost of PKR 79,130.878 million.
• Pakistan Education Fund project aims to provide scholarships across Pakistan, with a projected cost of PKR 14,000 million.

• 295-kilometre Lahore-Sahiwal-Bahawalnagar Motorway Phase-I was approved at the estimated cost of PKR 263,795.863 million.
• Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme has been given the green signal with a budget allocation of PKR 16.8 billion.
