Peshawar: Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has given nod to the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme for Mansehra city, a news source reported on January 6.

The news source mentioned that the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme will provide clean drinking water to a population of 2,000,000 and will be completed at a total cost of PKR 18.583 billion. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan stated that the approval of the mega scheme is a vital achievement for the government and people of the Mansehra district. He opined that the completion of the mega scheme will resolve the longstanding problem of clean drinking water in the city.

Moreover, CM Khan shared that the provincial government has initiated Cities Improvement Project, worth PKR 97 billion with a special focus on solid waste management and drinking water supply system. Under this project, work on drinking water supply has been started in different parts of the province.
