Islamabad: The National Economic Council’s Executive Committee (ECNEC) on Wednesday (January 04) approved 10 development projects worth over PKR 415.8 billion, news sources reported.

The ECNEC meeting approved a flood response emergency housing project of PKR 160 billion, including a World Bank loan of USD 500 million, and the National Development Internship Programme (NDIP) in line with the vision of the prime minister to mainstream the youth and involve them in national development.
The following projects were approved:
- PKR 8.663 billion were approved for the Provision of Higher Education Opportunities for students of Balochistan and erstwhile FATA (Phase-III)
- PKR 10.827 billion were approved for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme-HEC (Phase-III)
- PKR 17.139 billion was approved for the Construction of the Northern Section of the Ring Road (Missing Link) from the Warsak Road to the Nasir Bagh Road project

- PKR 18.583 billion were approved for the Construction of the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme Mansehra
- PKR 22.214 billion were approved for the Overseas Scholarship for MS/ MPhil leading to PhD in selected fields (Phase-III)
- PKR 40 billion was approved for special development initiatives for backward/ poor districts in the country
- PKR 61.6 billion was approved for the Sindh Human Capital Investment: 1000 days-Integrated Health and Population programme
