Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved PKR 100 million for the construction of a road from Dalbandin to Ziarat Balanosh under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2022-23, according to news published on May 17.

The funds were approved in a meeting that was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar. The National Highway Authority (NHA) will construct the 77-kilometre-long Dalbandin to Ziarat Balanosh Road. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Industries and Production Syed Murtaza Mahmud, Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman, and others.
In the same meeting, funds were approved for several other projects:
- PKR 1,666 million for the restoration of roads damaged during the flood in 2022
- PKR 5.57 billion for the import of Urea fertilizer
- PKR 17.3 million for employee-related expenditures of Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission
- PKR 922 million for the construction of 2nd Circuit stringing from Jiwani to Gwadar
- PKR 1 billion in favour of the Cabinet Division for SDGs Achievement Programme (SAP) for ongoing schemes
- PKR 50 million in favour of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety for SOS Children’s Villages
- PKR 550 million for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for publicity/awareness campaigns of the federal government during the current financial year

The news source further revealed that the ECC has advised the Ministry of Industries & Production to ensure early clearance of subsidy payable by the provinces on imported urea.
