Islamabad: Eastbay Expressway Project Director Imam Buksh Bezenjo stated that the ribbon-cutting of the Gwadar Eastbay Expressway is expected to be held on May 16, according to a news story published on March 27.

Eastbay Expressway — a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) road artery linking Gwadar Port to China — will be open for commercial traffic after Eid ul Azha. The project director revealed that a test drive has been successful. Now, the focus is on completing all major works including erection of boards of signage & direction signs, installation of cat-eyes, installation of cameras in April and road marking.
Moreover, it was notified that the Eastbay Expressway has generated employment opportunities for 1,300 locals of Gwadar. Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Manager Operation Capt. Gul Muhammad mentioned that the Communication Construction Company has collaborated on the modelling, designing, and construction of the project.

It is important to note that the said project is a 19-kilometer long six-lane road that will connect Gwadar Port and its Free Zone I and Free Zone II with Makran Coastal Highway (N-10) and Ratodero-Gwadar Motorway (M-8) for smooth transportation of goods to Khujrab.
