Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has announced that each division of the province will feature a residential colony for journalists in the coming years, a news source reported. The government has also issued funds for the development of the Multan Journalists Housing Colony.

For the purpose, Buzdar handed over PKR 54 million to Multan Development Authority (MDA) Director General (DG) Muhammad Ali Abbas, which will also be used to assist allottees in the project with construction of their homes. He further said that all possible efforts will be made to provide the journalists with assistance.
Moreover, he also said that a significant amount of budget has been allocated for Southern Punjab and the funds allocated for the region will not be shifted to any other area.

Meanwhile, the president of Multan Press Club awarded the chief minister with life-time membership of the press club on the occasion. The meeting was also attended by other high officials of the city.
