Peshawar: An e-tendering and e-biding system has been introduced in the districts that formerly comprised the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), a news source reported. This development was announced by the Provincial Minister for Communication Akbar Ayub Khan.

Khan also inauguration the e-tendering system for the tribal districts in Peshawar. He said the e-tendering system has brought transparency into K-P projects. He informed that the provincial government wanted to replicate the system into the seven districts to expedite the merger process.

Mentioning the benefits of the system, he remarked that placing the information online will also help in establishing a check and balance system within the said locations.
According to the minister, the system will benefit local contractors and expedite the communication links among the tribal districts. The contract, he felt, will also help these individuals compete in the open system – leading to no one being awarded the contract without merit.
