Lahore: The Punjab government is establishing a number of e-Rozgar centres across the province, many of which have been completed while others are under construction, a news source reported. This was announced by Punjab Minister for Sports, Youth Affairs and Tourism Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti on Thursday while chairing a meeting pertaining to E-Rozgar project.

Bhatti stated that centres in Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa and Rahimyar Khan had been completed while those in Pakpattan, Chakwal, Nankana Sahib, Jhang, Bahawalnagar, and Rajanpur were under progress. There are centres planned for a number of government universities and colleges with assistance from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). There are 30 centres in the province at the moment, all established with the help of PITB and Punjab Youth Ministry.

A total of PKR 870 million has been allocated for the project’s completion; of which PKR 180 million has been allocated in the budget for the current year. The centres are assisting young people in finding jobs and starting their own businesses, and about 64,000 young people have already been trained under the E-Rozgar project.
