The local administration had launched the app in mid-October in a bid to curb market manipulations mainly by grocery traders. The app was originally planned to provide updates to the public about the official rates of the kitchen items but seeing the enthusiastic response of the user, the authorities decided to upgrade it.
The app allows the users to receive daily updates on the rates of essential commodities – including grains, pulses, meat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables.

The app receives about 15,000 visits daily but even more tellingly, it also receives about 100 purchase orders through delivery services. The mode of payment is cash on delivery, which also ensure the quality of the items.
