Peshawar: Chairman Jamat-e-Islami Peshawar Sabir Hussain Awan said on 2nd February, 2018 that the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP)’s dumping of waste on fertile land is a crime and an unfair act for the people. He further highlighted that various localities in the area were being severely affected by this.
He directed that wastelands should be used for this purpose and fertile land should be spared. Awan further said that all measures necessary should be taken to correct this situation. In highlighting the plight of the poor farmers in PK-9, where this dumping is taking place, Sabir Hussain said that most farmers are located in this area and carry out farming on small plots of land here, and are being extremely disadvantaged because of this.
