Quetta: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated work on the dualisation of the Khuzdar-Kuchlak portion of the Karachi-Chaman (N-25) National Highway, according to a news story published in the national dailies on April 24.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by acting Governor Jan Mohammad Jamali, Minister for Communications Maulana Asad Mehmood, Ministers Israr Tareen and Mawabzada Shahzain Bugti, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos, Minister for Housing and Works Maulana Abdul Wasey, and provincial ministers.

PM Shehbaz, speaking at the ceremony, directed the authorities to start work on the whole 330-kilometre-long road rather than phase-wise work. He went on to say that the said road project will bring economic prosperity as it will make transportation to other cities easy. The PM ordered the authorities concerned to complete the project within one and a half years. Moreover, the prime minister announced financial support for 50,000 families living under the poverty line on the condition they send their children to school. PM Shehbaz has also asked the relevant authorities to prepare a feasibility report for Quetta Metro Bus and establish a technical university.
