Peshawar: The district administration has initiated a crackdown on unauthorized camps established by unregistered operations and individuals collecting donations for the rehabilitation of the flood-hit people, according to news published on August 31.

According to Deputy Commissioner Shafiullah Khan, the district administration has shut down over 100 camps established by unauthorised entities raising donations for flood affectees. He also stated that strict action will be taken against such camps and only registered organisations (like Edhi Foundation, Al-Khidmat Foundation etc) will be allowed to collect funds.

Moreover, Mr Khan said that as per the law, registered political parties will also be allowed to partook in the relief activities. The deputy commissioner opined that the public should join the government-run relief operations and support Rescue 1122 but stay away from collecting donations in an unauthorised manner. He also asked people to donate edibles, cash and blankets at camps set up at Shah Tehmas Football Stadium and Hayatabad Sports Complex to ensure that their offerings reach the deserved parties.
