Karachi: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has launched a mega drive against encroachment in Punjab Colony, according to a news source. CBC Deputy Chief Executive Officer Ghulam Muhammad Abbro said that the drive against encroachment has been launched on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Two illegal buildings were demolished during the operation. The Karachi Police and a squad from Pakistan Rangers joined the team carrying out the operation to deal with any unfortunate situation in the form of resistance from the residents.
According to CBC Administration, action was taking against both new and old buildings that were constructed without getting approvals from the concerned authority. Reportedly, the operation will continue in the next few days.
