Islamabad: A draft regarding the establishment of New Pakistan Housing Authority (NPHA) will be tabled before the federal cabinet for approval this month – a news source reported.

The Ministry of Housing and Works, in collaboration with the Task Force on Housing, has expedited work on the draft. A draft for the establishment of a Real Estate Regulatory Authority is also being worked upon.
Previously, a briefing to this effect was given to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan during a meeting held to review progress on the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

The PM directed the authorities concerned to speed up work on NPHP. He also asked the provincial governments to remove loopholes in property-related cases within the next 90 days.
The meeting’s participants said that the members of the housing task force would be briefed on the interest rates proposed by the State Bank regarding the construction of five million low-cost houses.
