Islamabad: Donations worth millions of dollars have been pledged to help Pakistan mitigate the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, a news source reported. Various national and international organisations have pledged their support to help the country during the ongoing crisis situation.

To facilitate this measure, YouTube announced that it would provide USD 5 million to Pakistan to help the country fight the coronavirus crisis. FINCA Microfinance Bank Pakistan recently donated PKR 2 million to the Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. FINCA employees donated a day’s worth of their salary for relief measures to help the government combat coronavirus. More than PKR 3.5 billion has been donated so far to the PM’s Relief Fund.

Moreover, multinational producer of hygiene products, Reckitt Benckiser (RB), pledged to utilise PKR 500 million to assist the country to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The company will donate hygiene products, such as Harpic, Robin, and Dettol products, and personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the country with the help of government bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
