Gujranwala: The Zakat & Ashar Committee Gujranwala has approved funds worth PKR 25 million to be distributed to 4,500 recently unemployed individuals in the city — a news source reported.
In all, PKR 50 million will be disbursed to a total of 9,000
people. The Zakat & Ashar Committee has begun gathering the data from all
the union councils of the province.
Zakat Committee’s Gujranwala Chairman Babu Sarmad Zaheer revealed that the committee had a total of PKR 24.4 million, which are being disbursed to people who had been recently unemployed —following the government’s approval.
Now the government has approved another 25 million for the
purpose. Chairman Zaheer further stated that each person will be provided with
a total of PKR 9,000 each. He added that a merit policy has also been prepared
for the people to whom the funds are going to be disbursed.
