Faisalabad: The district administration has announced the retrieval of 141 acres of state land from land grabbers in Khurrianwala, according to a news report published on February 15. The said chunk of land has been earmarked for a government housing scheme.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that the land grabbers had occupied the PKR 700 million state land at Chak 193-RB. He revealed that the district administration and local police also retrieved state land worth PKR 3.9 billion in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Ali revealed the owing to the illegal land occupation of the said SEZ state land in Faisalabad since 2007, as many as 32 multinational firms could not start development work on 400 acres. He also said that the operation to retrieve the land was completed on Saturday and that all illegal constructions on the said land were razed to the ground.
