Islamabad – The Department of Archeology and Museums (DOAM) raises concerns over the constructions on the land adjacent to Taxilla Museum, ascribing that the land is protected under the Antiquities Act 1975.
“Under more than 40 kanals of land, the relics of ancient Bhir City are buried. We are confronting this problem because the department did not purchase the land when it was right time to do so,” said a senior archeologist.
Whereas, on the other hand, Haider Rizvi, Executive Officer Cantt, Taxilla said that according to the revenue record, DOAM is unlikely to be the rightful owner of the disputed land.
