Islamabad: The petroleum ministry anticipates the discovery of a gas reserve as huge as Sui field – a news source reported.
Irtiza Syed, CEO of ExxonMobil, briefed Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan about exploration activities underway at Indus G Block.

As per estimates, the well – with a diameter of 18 to 24 inches – contains reserves of three to eight trillion cubic feet (TCF). If discovered, the reserves will be enough to provide gas for the next 25 to 30 years.
Sharing the details, Syed said that Exxon hopes to complete the exploration process by March or April. So far, the company has drilled 1,900 feet into the well. The target depth is 5,500 feet.

Exxon Mobil will dispatch a sample to Houston in March. The authorities in Houston will examine the sample and send it to Milan. Details of the sample will be released in April or May.
