Peshawar: To stop felling of trees owned by the provincial government, all trees in public parks, including Shalimar Garden, have been allotted a unique number, according to a news source. Trees were illegally cut down in Shahi Baagh, Gulbahar Baagh and several other parks in the past, causing revenue loss to the provincial government and increasing pollution.
Following the order given by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stop illegal felling of trees, the department concerned has properly marked trees in the parks and have also set up notice boards on the site. So far, about 250 trees have been marked with their data updated against an allotted number.
