Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza on Monday inaugurated the digitisation of land records facility in the authority, according to news sources. RDA Director General (DG) Ammara Khan was also present at the occasion.

This process of digitised land records is prompted by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s policy of ease in doing business and eliminating mishandling of the land records. Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the authority said that the purpose of this digitalisation of land records was to preserve the data in a modern and innovative way.

Previously, the RDA also conducted a seminar on the importance of the proposed ring road and shared the project details and prospects with the business and trade community. Murtaza spoke on the occasion and announced that special economic zones (SEZs) will also be established along the ring road project. He opined that the project will direct the growth and development of the city as per modern town planning practices and ‘change the skyline in the region’.
