Gujranwala: The district administration has decided to computerise over seven-decade-old property record of the district, reported a news source. For this purpose, properties files of real estate assets worth billions of rupees will be scanned and saved digitally.

Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner issued the directives for data digitization a few days ago after she visited the property record rooms managed by the Revenue Department. She ordered the staff concerned to update the record room on an urgent basis.
To ensure timely completion of the task, Gujranwala deputy commissioner has started visiting the Revenue Department’s record rooms in the district. Gujranwala District Court alone contains record of data from the last 72 years. In fact, due to improper management, the data is being lost.

In addition, the manual browsing of data wastes a lot of time seeking related property documents. To keep an eye on the activities of those who visit the record room, the concerned authority has decided to install CCTV cameras.
