Lahore: The digitisation of agriculture projects in Punjab is currently under discussion, a news source reported. Punjab Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar recently met with Governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Tariq Bajwa in this regard.
Bajwa has pledged SBP’s full support to computerise records of the province’s agricultural projects. Earlier, the Chief Secretary had directed him to prepare a comprehensive plan for this purpose.

Initially, the digitisation effort will be a pilot project. In this phase, it will cover two tehsils of Punjab. Later, other districts of the province will also benefit from the project’s replication.
The Chief Secretary has assured that the government will prioritise the agriculture sector. The authorities concerned will take several concrete measures to benefit farmers.

The digitisation of the projects will also be helpful in achieving this purpose. He added that Punjab Land Record Authority is working to introduce the facility of ‘Fard’ in fifteen banks to create monetary ease for people; especially citizens who hail from the agriculture sector.
