Islamabad: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has shared that the seventh population and housing census in the country will begin on March 1, news sources reported on January 25.

As per the details, it is the first digital census that will continue for a month, ending on April 1. The news source further mentioned that the Council of Common Interest (CCI) gave the approval to PBS during its 49th meeting held on January 13.

It was shared that before this decision, the PBS started census activities and decided to impart training for conducting the census in three tiers. The department stated that the census was, previously, planned to be conducted from February 1 to March 4. The relevant authorities have been directed to proceed accordingly and schedule all requisite activities keeping in mind the new census date.
