Dubai: The government plans to establish a digital bank for overseas Pakistanis in a bid to increase remittance inflows – a news source reported.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfikar Bukhari expressed his views on the matter. He was addressing a press conference in Dubai.

He informed that the authorities concerned were working on finalising the bank’s operational mechanisms and modalities. A comprehensive plan, in this respect, will be completed by February.
Bukhari said that the government is committed to providing maximum benefits to overseas Pakistanis. He added that that executive will establish the digital bank on a national level.

Furthermore, he expressed the hope that remittances would reach up to the USD 10 billion mark – through digital banking channels. He said that the government will introduce remittance cards in the next few months.
Moreover, several community welfare sections will be established in Pakistani missions situated in the Middle East.
