Peshawar: The government on Tuesday announced that the long-standing dispute over the land site of the multi-billion-dollar Diamer Bhasha Dam has been resolved, according to news sources.

Reportedly, a local Jirga, the local administration and the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has resolved the concerns about the land site between the two major tribes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB). The announcement was made by the Thor-Herban grand Jirga in a ceremony held at the dam’s site.

It was highlighted that the 26-member Jirga was constituted in December 202 to resolve the territorial dispute. As per the sources, the land dispute was resolved after WAPDA agreed to compensate the tribes on both sides of the boundary.
