The project details have been finalised, as confirmed by PHA Chairman Asif Mehmood while speaking to media. The project is part of the Prime Minister’s Clean and Green Initiative, under which the PHA plans to plant approximately 25,000 saplings this season, said Chairman Mehmood.
The monsoon plantation drive will start on July 15 and last till August 31, 2019. As per the long-term plan chalked out by the PHA, the authority will identify an appropriate location in each district of Rawalpindi Division to set up new forested land.

In addition to making these districts cleaner and greener, the forests will also generate income through the sale and export of fruits. For this purpose, the PHA has stocked its nurseries with the required seeds and saplings.
In order to manage these green areas, the PFA will hire new staff including gardeners.
