The Supreme Court (SC), on Wednesday, ordered DHA to submit PKR 22 Billion to Registrar SC, within 48 hours which it has received to develop 321 plots for Employees Old Age Benefit Institute (EOBI), or risk freezing all of its accounts.
The hearing was carried out by a three-judge Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry where Advocate Ahmer Bilal Sufi was instructed to deposit PKR 22 Billion to the Registrar SC. The Chief Justice commented that the money belongs to the poor and it must be returned. The refunding of the money shall portray that the criminal practice has ended.
During the hearing the defendant Advocate pleaded that DHA should to given a chance to put forward their facts as the report submitted by FIA was incomplete and biased. The Court rejected the plea of Advocate Sufi and ordered him to pay the collected money till 19th July 2013.
