Quetta: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA)-Quetta has opened the bids submitted by contracting firms interested in pursuing the construction of ‘DHA Expressway’ proect – and is, apparently, close to awarding the contract for the project’s development, according to a news report shared in several national dailies today (July 22).

The bids were opened in the presence of all the firms who had participated in the tendering process. While the news report referenced does not make any mention of the company that has been awarded the contract, it does reveal that the construction work at the site of the DHA Expressway is scheduled to start after Eid-ul-Azha (which further indicates that the project contract is to be awarded soon).

The news report also details that the construction work at the entrance gate of DHA Quetta would also resume after the said festivity.
Earlier on July 4, DHA Quetta revealed via its Facebook page that, following the initiation of development work at the society’s main entrance, the authority would commence with the Stage-I development work in its Phase I residential sectors; for which it intends to complete the required land transfer process as soon as possible.

According to the post, the last date for the completion of the land transfer process has been set for July 31. Additionally, any files issued against the property transferred after this date would not be accommodated under the sectors developed under Stage-I.
