Rawalpindi: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) said it had established a police post as per the demands of the scheme’s residents – a news source reported.
The authority said it had sought the assistance of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi in setting up a police post, in order to check the frequency of theft and robbery cases. The IGP later granted permission for this establishment in Phase-II.
The DHA management said it had informed residents about the police post built on Lane-II, Sector D, in Phase-II. It added that the utmost efforts were being made to provide a secure living space for residents.
Recently, a letter was addressed to the Deputy IGP Punjab regarding the construction of a police post in DHA-I to decrease crime rates in the area. According to the management, the establishment of a post will create a safer environment for citizens.
