Lahore: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore on Friday (September 4) shared a teaser via its official Facebook page account stating that the ‘wait is about to be over’.
The post, further, comes attached with the graphic of a tentative house plan tagged with the statement ‘opportunity is at your doorsteps – stay connected!’
While there are no further details available as to what the DHA is about to introduce, the said post does come tethered with a few comments underneath where people have shared their guesses regarding the authority’s announcement intention; with some opining that it is set on offering developed plots in all DHA phases on an instalment plan.
Additionally, the image shared with the post specifically seems to suggest that the ‘offer’ concerns developed plots. However, buyers and investors, as such, do not largely anticipate the launch of such units in established DHA phases as they are not sure which of them are still owned by the authority.
The real estate experts consulted for this report have suggested that since the launch of developed plots in existing phases is not what the public is ‘waiting’ for, the announcement could foreshadow the handing over of possession in a few blocks of DHA Phase 9 Prism – a development that certainly is due at the moment.
While we wait for further confirmation on this development, it is worth mentioning here that the authority has launched developed plots in established phases in the past (Feb 2016 and Oct 2019) – and received an overwhelming public response in the process. This is despite the fact that the application process for these past offers had come with a partial, non-refundable fee payment requirement.
The aforementioned field specialists also believe that considering that current bullish trends prevalent in the real estate market, and especially those seen in DHA Lahore, the time now seems ripe to invite applications for property units on an installment plan; with the successful applicants being determined via a computerised ballot.
