Karachi: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi has revealed robust plans for advancing Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) landscape, including the establishment of an IT Park in 6 months, as claimed by a source on December 13.

According to the provided details, the announcement was made during a specialised IT seminar titled ‘Tech Talk’ organised by DHA to inaugurate these ground-breaking initiatives. The event was graced by the presence of Information Technology (IT) Federal Minister (FM) Dr Omar Saif who highlighted the transformative potential of the IT sector in fortifying the national economy.
Dr Omar Saif emphasised the significance of the recently established Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) as a pivotal stride in the country’s developmental trajectory. He underscored the consequential role of the IT sector, aligning with the digital vision championed by military leadership. The creation of Special Technology Zones (STZ), he noted, is a strategic move in line with the nation’s digital future.

During the event, DHA Karachi Administrator and the National Defence University (NDU) Chancellor Professor Saeed Minaas, along with key figures from the IT industry, actively participated. IT FM Dr Saif proposed the formation of a forum, led by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), to unite military leadership and stakeholders on a common platform for collaborative efforts toward national development.
