Karachi: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has submitted an application to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority to set up an electric supply company for its DHA City Karachi project, reported a news source.
The purpose of setting up a dedicated power supply company is to reduce some of the burden from the Karachi Electric Supply Company and Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, and to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for the residents of DHA City Karachi.
Under the proposed project, DHA plans to produce 500 megawatts of electricity from different sources, including solar, wind, biomass and thermal energy.
