Gujranwala: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Gujranwala management has shared a list of do’s and don’ts for facilitating the buyers when purchasing plot files, according to their official Facebook page.

In a bid to warn the prospective buyers and made them aware of the right practices for file purchasing to avoid scams, DHA Gujranwala has enlisted following tips:
Do’s
- Only use registered property dealers when buying or selling a file. To verify the registration status of a dealer, visit the authority’s official website
- Carry out market research by contacting at least 5 registered dealers to check the prices and availability of the file
- Make sure you get an original sales receipt for the file with original letter heads of the dealer
- Always confirm the rates from Gujranwala DHA office either by visiting or calling them
- Ensure that the concerned DHA officer knows about the original deal price
- Only make payments to DHA Gujranwala office through cash or pay order
- Have all the required documents with you for a hassle-free transfer process
- Always conduct complete research before buying a Service Benefit File (SBF)
Don’ts
- Don’t ever buy or sell a file through a non-registered dealer
- When signing a deal for SBF, make sure you obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) from General Headquarter (GHQ)

- Never give out the original Allocation Letter/NOC/Intimation Letter before receiving the payment
- Don’t give the NOC or Allocation Letter to the dealer before getting a signed receipt
