Bahawalpur: The phase one of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Bahawalpur will be developed at a cost of PKR 85 billion, according to DHA Bahawalpur Project Director Brigadier Shahid Mahmood.
He expressed his views during a ballot ceremony held to determine successful applicants. Former hockey player Samiullah Khan was invited as the chief guest at the event.

The DHA project director said that plot numbers have been allotted for this project, which was initiated some three years ago. He lauded the organisation’s finance, administration, IT, and marketing teams for their efforts.
He informed that the authority has designated an area of 50 acres for the construction of Shaukat Khanum Hospital. He said that a separate eight-inch pipeline will be installed for the supply of gas.
DHA Bahawalpur has already secured permission with regard to gas provision. He said that labour work is underway on the construction of water tanks. Similarly, the management has finalised plans concerned with the project’s electricity supply.
Earlier, the balloting process was held for villas measuring 6, 9 and 12 marlas, as well as plots measuring 4 marlas, 10 marlas, and 1-kanal. Local and international developers, real estate agents, and property dealers from across the country were all present at the occasion.
