As we mentioned previously, DHA has decided to launch a full-fledged, high quality housing society in Bahawalpur, creating great excitement and relief among the people of Bahawalpur who haven’t seen a society of this kind before. Now, we have an interesting update for you!
DHA Bahawalpur is all set to begin the balloting of plots on November 28, as stated by DHA Project Director Brigadier Arif Rashid Kiyani. Those applying for a plot have their hopes up and their fingers crossed.
However, possession is far off, due to be granted in 2018. Development work in the society has not begun yet, but is due to commence as soon as balloting is finished. While this may seem like a lot of time to those in search of short-term gains, it will fly by for others who are in it for the long term.
Some allege that the society has acquired land from unwilling landowners. However, this rumour has been firmly refuted by DHA Director Colonel Shaheen. According to a news source, he said the land belonged to the Punjab government and the authority acquired it in a legal, upright manner. Apparently, illegal occupants had been occupying five acres of the land for the past few years, which is why DHA had to evict them.
According to sources, DHA is spread over 2,200 acres and contains approximately 5,000 residential plots in 1 kanal and 10 marla sizes.
Alfatah Estate & Builders Marketing Manager Usama Amjad told Zameen.com that the society is situated in an ideal location just 3-4 km from the airport. It is very close to important institutions such as a veterinary university, City School, Beaconhouse, and the University of the Punjab.
Additionally, a medical school named DHA Medical College will be operational in the society soon. According to Amjad, classes for the medical college will commence in the Cantonment area and be shifted to DHA once the building is complete.
It seems like DHA is planning to design a state-of-the-art residential space, just as it has in other cities in Pakistan. Planned facilities include a highly commendable security system, theme park, golf course, high-end commercial area with shopping malls, and impeccable road structure.
If you have not seen the payment plan in our previous posts, here it is again for your convenience:
Plot Size | Processing fee (non-rrefundable) | 10% Down payment within 30 days of balloting | 12 quarterly instalments | Total price of plot |
1 kanal | PKR 10,000 + PKR 1,000* = PKR 11,000 | PKR 380,000 | PKR 285,000 | PKR 3,800,000 |
10 marla | PKR 7,000 + PKR 1,000* = PKR 8,000 | PKR 220,000 | PKR 165,000 | PKR 2,200,000 |
That’s all for DHA Bahawalpur for now! We will keep you updated whenever something comes up. Are you excited about this new housing scheme in Bahawalpur? Let me know in the comments section below.

cell no plzz 🙂
DHA has generally been doing very well, at all places, except their DHA Valley project in Islamabad. I opine that the Bahawalpur venture would shine, within a year, provided they maintain a good pace of tangible development work. The area has definitely an appetite of a sound and secure place to live in.
