Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Ahmad Aziz Tarar has directed the officers concerned to ensure the completion and inauguration of the Firdous Market Underpass by October 31, according to a news report published today (October 21).

While chairing a review meeting, the DG said that the project’s completion was delayed owing to the recent spell of rains; adding that the civic agency regretted any inconvenience caused.
Reportedly, the flagship project is not expected to suffer from any further delays as the project was launched to provide the people of Lahore with convenience. The DG further revealed that the work on the project has continued throughout day and night and the whole team was working very hard to get the project completed on time.

Moreover, the director general stated that the quality of work should not be compromised to complete the project by the communicated deadline and, to this effect, timely supply of the required construction materials should be ensured. He said that the contractor’s payments should be made timely – after fulfilling all the legal requirements.
