Islamabad: The federal government will be accelerating the pace of its developmental projects in Karachi, a news source quoted Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.

A meeting was held at the Prime Minister Office (PMO) on Wednesday, where the PM appointed an Additional Secretary. The official will be responsible for ensuring improvement and supervising the speed of development work for the said projects in Karachi. The meeting was also attended by Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail, as well as other senior officials.

The PM has stated that Karachi is not only the financial hub of the country; it also plays a central role in the overall progress and stability of the national economy. He made assurances that the federal government is fully cognizant of the city’s ongoing challenges. Steps will be taken to resolve the water crises in the city, and the sewerage system will also be revamped. Karachi’s transport issues are also part of the agenda.
