The project will include interchanges for traffic to enter or exit the corridor without hassle. Since the chowk is an entry point for traffic arriving from Lahore, it often remains congested.
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will execute the project at an estimated cost of PKR 20 billion. Following the remodelling of the Kutcheri Chowk, the civic agency expects to resolve the problem of traffic jams within the vicinity and in overall Rawalpindi.
