Islamabad: The development work on Sohan and Khana Interchanges of the under-construction Islamabad Expressway has been on hold from the last two weeks, according to a news source. The reason behind the stalled work is the ongoing sit-in in the federal capital.
All roads leading to the site have been blocked due to protestors present at Faizabad Chowk, which is why building material couldn’t be transported to the site. The deadline for completing development work on Sohan Interchange is December 31, 2017. According to sources, this deadline can be met if the protests end soon. The completion date for Khana Interchange is scheduled for February 2018.
